NEXON Mobile Games Common Operation Policy


1. Basic Operation Policy

1.1 Nexon mobile games, serviced by Nexon Korea Corporation (Company), are being operated by the following operation policies seen below. According to the policy of the company, customers are provided with convenient service and protection. Furthermore, the operation policy was made to promptly and consistently resolve problems occurring during the game play.

1.2 Through the operation policy, which is based on customer service, the company will provide convenient service, user protection, and solutions for problems from inside and outside of the game consistently and without further delay.
1.3 The company may alter the operation policy in order to provide stable service to the users and to minimize any customer inconvenience that is encountered. If changes are made to the operation policy, the company will be informing the users through official community pages and in-game announcements.

In order to prevent any loss or inconveniences, please check the announcement and acquaint the altered details. The company won’t be able to give support if any losses or incommodities due to not having known about the alterations occur.

1.4 Any matters which are not mentioned in the operation policy section will follow the “Nexon Mobile Service Terms Use”, “Nexon Personal Information Privacy Policy” and other related legislations.

1.5 The access restrictions mentioned in the operation policy refer to the restrictions in the use of the account in Nexon mobile games and the use of the game character.


2. Customer's Rights and Obligations

2.1 Customers have the rights to enjoy diverse contents provided by the game, and receive related services.

2.2 Customers should not act against the company's terms, policy, and social norms. If damage is caused to other customers due to certain actions, they will be responsible for the damage caused.

2.3 Customers need to enter their correct personal information when registering as a member.

Damage caused from immoral actions such as registering false information or using the personal information of other customers may not be protected by the company. Moreover, they will be responsible for the consequences of identity theft.

2.4 When having difficulties with the game play, the customer may inquire anytime through the customer center which is accessible though the game.

2.5 For a smoother game play you may request for help or make suggestions to the game operator (Also known as GM: Game Master). If a bug is encountered within the game, the customer may report the bug to the GM. After receiving the reported bug, the GM will try his/her best to resolve the problem.

2.6 When customers feel that they have received unfair treatment from the GM, they may inquire through official channels such as the customer center and request for measures regarding such treatments.

2.7 Customers are responsible for the damages received from the use of the programs that are not officially provided by the company.


3. Personal Information Management

3-1 Customers are solely responsible for their accounts and their account-related activities.

3-2 The “company” will not acknowledge cases in which customers abnormally transfer/sell or share their accounts and personal information. All problems (fraud, account theft, etc.) that arise due to this shall not be the “company” ’s reliability.

3-3 In cases where customers trade their accounts, characters, items and etc. for money or actual goods, they will be deprived from their rights to use without warning. It will be very difficult for customers to receive any help with the problems rising thereof.

3-4 Customers can protect their personal information from others’ misconducts such as account-thefts by changing their account passwords regularly.

3-5 Customer negligence is the cause of fraud in most cases, which makes it very difficult for us to provide assistance for the damages caused. In order to avoid fraud (being deceived by a person impersonating the GM or a character by means of a similar name, or by a person who pretends to be a friend), please be cautious when performing transactions such as trading or buying items/goods.


4. GM's Role and Activities

The GM has the responsibilities and duties as mentioned below, and has the obligation to provide the customers with a convenient game environment.

When a case that is not mentioned below arises, a prompt and appropriate response will be given in accordance with the general gaming order (shared by the company and the customer) for a smooth operation of the game. All measures will be taken to protect the proper gaming environment and customers.

4.1 The GM must comply with the company’s privacy policy and must not ask for the customer’s personal information (User information such as game password).

4.2 The GM has the responsibility to check and modify bugs which are reported by customers.

In case the bug fixing is delayed due to various environmental/issues, the GM will make best efforts to give an announcement to the users or provide support through 1:1 answers.

4.3 The GM should not show favoritism to certain customers and should treat all customers fairly and equally.

4-4 The GM must not ask for customer's personal information (Social Security Number, private information, etc.), or modify/reveal their personal information.

However, if judicial institutions make a formal request for information, GM could provide it to the relevant institutions.

4-5 Apart from the information publicly available, GM may provide limited or no information regarding future updates and specific content inquiries from customers.

4-6 In cases where an abnormal circumstance takes place either in or outside the game, the GM may completely/partially suspend or restrict access to the service.

4.7 The principle of the GM (operator) is not to be involved with the normal activities of customers. However, if issues regarding the interference of other customers’ game play or interference of the game operations are encountered, the customer will be warned or the use of the game ID or character will be restricted to protect other customers according to the policy.

① Actions regarding the distribution and use of harmful programs that hinder the game environment

② Actions regarding the interference of the game play of other virtuous customers

③ Actions regarding the destruction of the game order such as game economy which is shared by virtuous customers.

④ Actions regarding the violation of the positive law or the damage to the public order and morals of the game.

4.8 When abnormal situations such as bugs are encountered within the game, the GM may delete or suspend the relevant contents depending on the seriousness of the problem. In these occasions, the GM will make a prompt announcement regarding the issue to prevent any damages which can be caused to the customers.


5. Naming Policy Including Character Names

5.1 Customers may freely decide on the game contents (system) regarding the creation of character names.

In case the customer creates a nickname which corresponds with the items listed below, the GM may restrict the game use without prior warning according to the standards of the operation policy.

Moreover, the GM may modify/delete the contents (system) regarding the creation of names to protect virtuous customers

- Names that are considered to have the intentions to deceive other users as a staff of the company or the GM

- Names that are created with lascivious and filthy words or slangs (abusive language) that can be unpleasant to other customers

- Names that are intended to trade game ID, characters, cyber money to cash or actual goods, with those of other servers or other games

- Names that degrade groups such as certain religion, race, or companies

- Names that advertise a certain target

- Names that are not acceptable under social norms

- Names that have the possibility to infringe a third party brand or copyright


6. Precautions While Playing the Game

6.1 Use Restrictions

According to the general order and the standard that are shared between the customers and the company, the GM (including the items below) may take prompt and appropriate actions in order to protect virtuous customers from all actions that interfere game play and wreck the game environment.

In order to create a vibrant and comfortable discussion board for customers, the GM may impose sanctions or edit/move/delete posts without any prior notice.

6.1.1 Disputes Between Customers

When problems between customers arise, the GM will be taking an objective position to bring amicable solutions to the issues.

However, if needed, the GM may provide appropriate suggestions for an amicable settlement. The customers that do not comply with the service policy will be subjected to the legislation stipulated for the service policy.

6.1.2 Ill-Mannered Actions and Actions that Disturb the Order within the Game

Ill-mannered actions refer to actions that interfere intentionally the gameplay of other customers, and actions that are unpleasant to other customers in chats or discussion boards.

They also refer to actions that intend to deceive customers through fraud in order to obtain unfair advantage or to obtain goods or items without a reasonable exchange. Punishment may be imposed, in accordance to relevant laws and restrictions that follow operating policies, when a fraudulent activity greatly harms a customer.


Below are the categories representing the cases mentioned above.

Even the cases that are not specified below but are similar can be sanctioned in accordance to Section 6-2.

However, good and items lost from fraudulent activities cannot be recovered according to the “Compensation Policies”.

- Spreading false information, in regards to official announcements, that has not been announced by the company or the GM

- Modifying the official announcements or distributing the modified contents

- Encouraging or attempting to gamble (through mobile/personal/Internet platforms)

- Making false reports about bugs, lost items, theft, etc. through 1: 1 Customer Service.

- Using the Board to post irrelevant or abusive content

- Posting abusive, obscene, hateful, violent content or images on a Board that can be seen by a large number of users

- Business advertising or chatting, contents of which is not related to the company, done with the purpose of obtaining personal benefits

Trading with cash or advertising

6.1.3 System (Bug) Abuse

When customers encounter bugs or system related problems within the game, they need to report them through the customer center which is accessible through the game.

If they do not report the bugs, and abuse or distribute the bugs to others, their game use may be restricted accordingly.

Restrictions may also be applied in the cases described below. Furthermore, similar cases that are not specified below can be sanctioned in accordance to Section 6-2.

Abusing the bug constantly, even though if it has been encountered and notified officially though the announcements made by the GM

Passing over the issue about abusing the system or assisting the abusing actions of an acquaintance.

Manipulating intentionally the acquirement of game information with other customers.

Using the bugs within other games to obtain benefits inappropriately or to demolish the balance of the game.

6.1.4 Use of Illegal Programs

'Use of illegal programs' refers to the use of all programs that can damage the fair and smooth game environment and cause harm to virtuous customers.

When the following actions are detected by the GM, the customers can be restricted to the game use according to the operation policy.

Furthermore, the game use can also be restricted if unusual action patterns are verified through the GM’s game data (Records, investigations, etc). The customer will be responsible for the damages received, if he/she uses programs which are not officially provided by the company.

Customers may be restricted if they correspond to any of the articles below, and can also be restricted if similar actions, even though it’s not mentioned, are encountered according to the section 6.2

Types of Illegal Program Usage

The use of all software or device (hardware) that are not provided or verified by the company, such as speed hack, memory hack, multi loader, macro program, hacking program, etc.

The use of programs that can violate the copyright of the company's program by altering, damaging, and forging the game data or program

Creating or distributing software and devices (hardware) as mentioned above

Accessing the game through VPN programs or devices.

6.1.5 Hacking and Theft of Accounts and Leakage of Private Information

1) What is game account theft/hacking?

Hacking refers to illegally accessing other customer's device or game server, modifying or changing the data by opening the game application.

Identity theft is the obtainment or the attempt to obtain anothers in-game goods, items, etc. through his/her account without prior consent. If an account theft/hacking report is a false one, then sanctions are imposed on the reporter.

2) What is personal information leakage?

It is the action of leaking the personal information of another customer within the game.

*What is personal information?

Information related to an individual in which according to the name and resident registration number it is information which can be recognized by the individual such as signs/letters/voice/sounds (It can also be known by simply combining other information when a specific individual cannot be identified with the following information).

6.1.6. Abuse of All Processes Related to the Company and the Open Market Store

During the use of the game service, customers may be restricted to game use if they acquire benefits by abusing all processes related to the member registration, game use, payment, refund, etc. that are provided by the company and the open market store. The benefits acquired through abusing may be withdrawn from the customer.

Furthermore, the customer may receive restrictions if he/she spreads ways to abuse to other customers or harms other virtuous customers.

The GMs will take strong actions against the abusing of all processes related to the open market store (Such as the Google Store and etc.) and will put their best effort to protect virtuous customers from harm.

6.2 Standard of Use Restriction

Depending on the accumulated number of violated articles, the customer’s game use may be restricted. In cases where the violations to the terms of use and customary laws damaged the company or other customers, the period of access restriction to the game may be increased accordingly.

Related actions that are not stated below may also be restricted according to the provision, 6.2.

Also, this is applied when the user tries to obtain unfair profits through these programs. *Measures will be taken to collect or delete all of the items, goods, EXP, etc. which were obtained by abusing the processes of the company and the open market store directly/indirectly. If the items, goods, EXP etc. are damaged or difficult to collect them back, the game character may be deleted or the game data may be reinitialized.

* The customer may receive judicial measures if he/she uses an ID of a customer or the IDs of a majority of customers for the purpose of making money, or if he/she abuses the processes of the company and the open market store as a group.


6.3 Guides to Objecting Use Restriction

You may inquire through the customer center within the game if you desire to object the use restriction

However, if 1 month has passed since the starting day of the use restriction, you may not request to object due to the end of the data conservation of the basis of the restrictions.

7 Compensation Policy

There can be no compensations for the damages caused in cases listed below or when an account or character information cannot be verified.

7.1 Application for compensation is accepted within 7 days of the problem occurrence and it should be reported through the 1:1 Customer Center. After this period of time, it will be difficult to offer compensation.

7-2 Inquiries should be filed from the ID in which the issue is occurred. Reports filed from another ID will not be acknowledged.

7-3 Compensation cannot be provided when customer’s data is not secured due to the negligence of the service provider.

7-4 In-game goods, items, EXP that are purposely lost or lost due to customer’s negligence will not be compensated.

7-5 Assistance cannot be provided to cases in which problems are occurred due to the customer’s negligence or carelessness.

7-6 Assistance cannot be provided to cases in which users overlook the contents of operating policies, in-game announcements, and official communities(forums, SNS, etc.)


8. Dormant Accounts Policy

8-1 The company may delete accounts or characters, if they meet all the conditions listed below, in order to provide seamless service and to prevent improper use of dormant accounts and characters.

- Accounts or characters that have been dormant(no record of access) for more than 12 moths

- If there are no charged items, in an account that corresponds to the above clause, with a use period remaining or no charged items purchased at all.


8-2 Once an account or a character has been classified as dormant and the user has been notified, all related information will be deleted without the possibility of recovery. If the user logs in within the announced period, the dormant state gets cancelled.


9. Guest Accounts Policy

Guest accounts are linked to the device and may be lost due to actions such as data transfer, loss of device, alteration related to loss, malfunction, substitution, factory reset, as well as cache and data deletion. Therefore, the company is not responsible for the problems arising from an account that is not linked to SNS or listed options.

9-1 The company will take all necessary actions to recover guest accounts if they lost due to company negligence.

9-2 The company will provide all necessary guidance inside the game and in the official community in regards to problems that can occur if the account is not linked.

9-3 The company cannot provide assistance to cases in which the guest account is lost due to the loss of device, transfer or factory reset, as well as data or cache loss due to user’s negligence or carelessness.

9-4 Guest account cannot be deleted permanently nor can it be guaranteed for permanent use.


10. Purchase Cancellation (Withdrawal) Policy

Unused, charged in-game items can be subscribed for withdrawal within the market service center.

However, purchase cancellation is not available for the following cases.
- Items purchased with charged in-game currency are not available for purchase cancellation.
- Items, which are used directly after being purchased with cash, are not available for purchase cancellation. (ex. opening of a package, appliance of an in-game product)
- When purchase cancellation is abused, provision 6-1-6 (Abuse of All Processes Related to the Company and the Open Market Store) may be applied and game access restrictions may incur.

*The term/label for charged in-game currency may differ for each game.

*Laws and regulations of each country will be applied accordingly.

Supplementary Provision 1

The operation policy was implemented in January 29, 2013.
